Increased Theft From Motor Vehicle Reports
The Denton Police Department has noticed a significant increase in reports of thefts from unsecure motor vehicles and tampering with motor vehicles. These reports seem to be concentrated in two distinct areas; the S. 2nd Street area and Market Street area between the Fairfield, Mallard Landing and Savannah Overlook areas. We are reminding our citizens to make sure they secure their vehicles and remove all valuables from their vehicles. Also, please report any suspicious activity to police at 410-479-1414 or 410-479-2515 (after normal business hours) or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
DPD Recieves New AED's
Funded by a Grant from the Caroline Human Services Council
Denton Police Department has received four new Automated External Defibrillator’s (AED’s) through a community initiative grant with The Caroline Human Services Council. An AED is a portable electronic device that can diagnose potentially life threatening cardiac arrest and treat through defibrillation. Using electrical therapy an AED allows the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm. The Caroline Human Services Council approved DPD’s request to purchase the new AED’s to replace the twelve year old model in service. Along with the Automated External Defibrillator’s DPD was also granted quick response carrying cases, backpacks, and a supply of adult and child electrodes. DPD was also able to install an AED wall mount within the department to assist where needed. The Denton Police Department works in conjunction with the local Volunteer Fire Department to respond to AED calls throughout Caroline County. With the recently received AED’s each patrol squad will be assigned to carry an AED at each shift to ensure even faster response times. With the help of The Caroline Human Services Council the Denton Police Department has been granted the tools to ensure the safety of our Denton and Caroline County citizens.
